Between the MT-07 and the SV650 I give the edge in performance to the MT-07. A little more power and about 25-30 lbs less. That being said I don't care for the styling of the MT-07 and it does feel a little "cheap" compared to the SV650. I bought a leftover SV650X in 2020 because the price was great and Suzuki was offering 60 month 0% financing.

The thing that puzzles me though is why the USA FZ models are a year behind Australian and European models, this may change now they are all being badged MT. As I said, I bought my bike in April 2017 and it came standard with a quick shifter and an upgraded mapping to smooth out the snatchy throttle of the previous 2016 model.
