The EGR valve and cooler are located on the lower left rear side of the engine. The side of the valve can been seen looking through the gap here: 2 screws on the side, 3 underneath and 2 (or 3) holding it onto the EGR valve. Don't forget to replace the seals and the metal gasket (the seal is £3.30 !! Wt a rip! And clean out the EGR whie your at it with some carb-cleaner! (£5 from Halfords) About 3 Hours Job with cuts and grazes free. Aidan McDonnell. Hi guys, I drive an Audi A3 (170) 2.0 TDI 8P 2012. Can someone please locate my EGR valve from the attached pictures? I have been told by mechanics that the EGR valve is at the back of the engine and consequently requires the engine to be removed to gain access.
Posted September 30, 2022. Got the car back, the guy suggested another ÂŁ100 to investigate the light being on as it showed fault codes that suggested links to the new turbo, so hopefully just historical. Cars driving straight, all good. Thanks for the advice to get it check rather than just changing glow plugs. Insert image from URL.
